In version 3.0, Neat Video added CUDA-based acceleration for NVIDIA GPUs.
Starting with the 3.3 update, Neat Video also can use some computation-capable AMD/ATI cards through the OpenCL interface.
Earlier, the AMD/ATI support was added in other plug-ins. Now, the same functionality is available in the Final Cut plug-in as well.
The updated version 3.3 of the plug-in includes:
-
Added support for AMD/ATI GPUs (GPU acceleration is now possible with both NVIDIA and AMD/ATI cards)
The following AMD/ATI GPUs are supported (OSX 10.7.0 or newer required):- ATI Radeon HD 5770/5870;
- AMD Radeon HD 6750M/6770M/6970M;
-
Some other models of AMD/ATI cards (please directly try the plug-in or contact support to verify)
Note: Using the latest models of AMD GPUs is recommended for the best performance.
- Several cosmetic improvements in GUI
- Several compatibility issues and bugs have been fixed
Note: Recent FCP X 10.0.8 update has fixed the critical bug in FCP X that caused FCP X to corrupt frames when plug-ins were used. FCP X 10.0.8 works correctly now, so we recommend updating FCP X to version 10.0.8.
