How to switch a project from Neat Video 5 to 6

If you have been using Neat Video 5 and have just upgraded to the new Neat Video 6, then you may consider the possibility of switching your existing project to using the new version. Which is not really necessarily (since you can just continue to use Neat Video 5 in that existing project and start using Neat Video 6 in a newer project) but if you want or for some reason need to switch, then the simplest available method is described here as a set of steps.

1. First of all, please update Neat Video 5 to the very latest version available in your account.

2. Then open an existing project and find an instance of Neat Video 5 effect in it (it may appear as Reduce Noise v5 or Reduce Noise v5 (SR) there).

3. Open the window of Neat Video 5 for that instance of the effect as you usually do when you want to build a noise profile or adjust the filter settings in Neat Video.
4. Go to the Effect menu and click the Copy Profile and Preset item there.
5. Close the window of Neat Video 5 (click Cancel or Apply).
    
6. Add a new instance of the new Neat Video 6 effect (it may appear as Reduce Noise v6) to the same place in your project where you currently have the instance of Neat Video 5 you just opened in the previous steps.
7. Open the window of Neat Video 6 for the newly added instance.
8. Go to the Effect menu and click the Paste Profile and Preset item there.
9. Click the Apply button to close the window of Neat Video 6.
    

10. Disable the older instance of Neat Video 5 effect.

At this point, the older instance of Neat Video 5 is no longer active in your project, the new instance of Neat Video 6 is active and is already reducing noise to prepare the preview in your application. You can now check whether the results look correct in preview and then save the project. If you wish you can also remove the inactive instance of Neat Video 5 in that part of the project as it will not be used anymore.

If you have other instances of Neat Video 5 in the same project, you can also replace them with new instances of Neat Video 6 using the steps 2 - 10 above.

Please note that you may not need to do that, since you can just let this project continue to use Neat Video 5, which would require no extra effort. This entirely up to you to choose one way or another.
