I tried a few search on board and didn't find enough information talking about choosing a correct card for accelerate NeatVideo processing,

for exmaple

minimum VRAM requirement for processing 1920x1080 without impact it's performance?
how it scale with multiple GPU?
does card like NVIDIA Tesla C2050 will help for it's high performance double precision performance?

I am currently using

Win7 64bits
After Effects CS5.5 64bits
NeatVideo 3.1 64bits

i5-2400
16GB ram
NVIDIA 550 Ti

my source video is 1920x1080 60p,
currently setting radius to 5,
here is the simple benchmark from NeatVideo

it's too slow for my practical usage,
so I wanna move on to high-end hardware,

I got i7-3930k with a X79 motherboard on list,
but I have no idea about what kind and how many GPU should I add for it,

will one powerful GTX590 faster than two GTX570?
or I should get a C2050 for it's double precision performance?

any advise please?

Here are some known figures with 1920x1080p, radius=1 (GPU alone):
- GTX 590 13.5 fps
- GTX 580 10.1 fps
- GTX 470 6.4 fps
- GTX 560 Ti 5.8 fps

GTX 570 would be about 8 fps and so 2x GTX 570 will probably give around 15 fps, which is a bit faster than one GTX 590.

All these cards have enough memory to let Neat Video process 1920x1080 frames.

Sorry, I do not have figures from Tesla yet. If any of the forum members have direct measurements from Tesla cards, please kindly post here.

AndCycle, what type of main memory (RAM) do you use?
We did saw i7-3930K produce better results on systems with fast RAM (DDR3 1866 or 2133), (not 6.5 fps, but more like 10 fps, using CPU alone). So it is possible that the CPU and GPU speeds on your machine may be currently limited by the main memory, and using a faster memory could perhaps help.

Regarding using multiple GPUs, it seems to me that the optimal configuration would include one or two fast GPUs (fast enough to make each of them faster than or equal to the CPU alone). And in that case, speeds of such 2 GPUs would combine most efficiently.

oops, I never thought the frequency will effect performance significantly,
I haven't bought memory for this machine,
there is just a pair of PC3-10600, 1333MHz,
only 4GB on board now, 2Gx2,

I will redo cpu benchmark later with different memory configuration :X

ok, I looked up the mother board manual,
my previous test is done in single channel mode,

this is the result by simply swap the memory to make it in dual channel mode,

I will do further test after I got memory.

ok, after a few test round,
I think 10fps can only be archived by overclocking which I don't really like that much,

I should be able to borrow a Tesla C2050 next wednesday to tell the result :p

So the memory is indeed important. If you can, try also with a faster RAM modules, that may further increase the speed, to around 10 fps.

It will certainly be interesting to check the speed on a Tesla hardware.

I have manual set cpu clock locking at 3.2G because I found a bug on Gigabyte X79-UD5 and waiting for new BIOS,
