NV For Premiere: Why does the Program Monitor need to be HQ?

Post by bonnyr »

Why does the Program Monitor in NV For Premiere need to be set to
highest quality? I would have thought the same pipeline that feeds the
video through all the filters would provide appropriate frames for NV to
work with.

Also, does that mean that the PM window needs to be open?

Cheers,

The Program Monitor in Premiere has to be set to the highest quality to make sure Premiere feeds the same video data during profiling in NV and during final rendering. If the video data are different at these two stages then the noise profile will not correspond to the data actually filtered during rendering and filtration will be inaccurate.

PM windows has to be open to enable Effect control so that you could adjust the NV filter settings.
