I tried Windows on my Intel Mac and had nothing but problems. I had various crashes (legit copies), difficulties installing programs. I tried downloading trial versions of Premiere Pro CS3 and AE CS3 (since the latest versions support p2 formats), but couldn't get them to work (the trial versions weren't up to date and they wouldn't let you update the demo). Plus, I really don't want to drop $799.00 or more on either of these programs just to use NV (I'd rather give that money to NV). Granted, I haven't used a PC since Windows 95 so maybe I was just doing something wrong. Anyway...

Looks I have to pray that the Mac version comes out soon (I'd be willing to buy AE for Mac if NV isn't compatible with FCP (again, I wish I didn't have to, but anything Mac is better than the hell I just went through; I tried XP and Vista). I've been encouraging my wife to go Mac (she has the windows versions), but I gave it a shot. I've tried other noise reduction plugs but nothing seems as promising as NV so it'll be worth the wait.

This isn't a platform flame, just a frustration. What's worse, I never even got to try the NV demo!

I'll grab myself a beer, kick back and wait. But I do plan on drinking this beer rather quickly Wink

Imo, you really should make an effort to get Boot Camp working on your iMac or something like VMWare Fusion, as it will be worth it. It'd be worth even paying a technician to do it for you, although you really should just find a local Mac aficionado and offer them a beer and a pizza to get it working for you.

Then you wouldn't have to buy After Effects at all just to use Neat Video.

VirtualDub & AVISynth are awesome Open Source video tools that there is no equal to on OS X. You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't attempt to learn how to use these tools.

Can I ask you first, after you have installed Boot Camp and installed Windows XP (stay away from Vista as its slow), did you then install the Drivers CD that you created in Boot Camp Utility?

Did you also upgrade Windows to Service Pack 3?

I actually just booted up to Windows (Intel Mac). Not a great workflow, but useable. Unfortunately I have Vista and I've had a few issues... mainly the a memory issue (Windows only sees 1 GB ram and I have 18GB in the Mac).

I may try to give boot camp a try (I also own Premiere for Windows, I tried a demo of After Effects but found Premiere to be 'friendlier'.
