HDV 1280x720 preview problem with Neat

Post by marywait »

My Vegas 8a project is HDV 1280x720 and many clips have Neat noise reduction applied. I had many crashes while rendering until I updated the Neat plug in. However, before that I had horrible preview issues and still do after the update.

Whether in playback or just progressing frame by frame with the arrow keys, the video jumps back and forth in time. Even a "dynamic RAM priview" does not solve the problem. Only a full prerender or a real render shows the video properly. This really slows down the editing process and I would like to resolve if possible.

I'm using Windows XP pro on a new macbook pro with boot camp.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Basically, this is an effect of dynamic RAM previewing by Vegas combined with temporal filtration that works with several frames at a time.

Please disable dynamic RAM previewing: enter 0 in the Dynamic RAM preview (max) box on the Video tab of the Vegas' Preferences dialog.

Hope this helps.
