Automation

Post by jm »

I have hundreds (or more!) of clips captured from my camcorder in AVI and many more from my digital camera in mpeg2. I dread the task of opening each in Vdub, clicking auto profile, hitting OK for the area too small and after a further sequence of clicks, saving the filter to VDub queue.

I can do a bunch of automation of filenames etc in AviSynth. With some luck, even decide to call NV depending on the average brightness in the clip.

Can we add a mode where NV processes the input with the best that it can, ie, find a frame (from a specified range as has been suggested elsewhere), perform auto profiling and apply specified preset filter. In cases where auto profiling cannot be done, a message should be generated, error returned and/or recorded in a log file. Optionally, return the frame selected and the quality of nose profile generated.

I understand the resulting quality may not be the best. Any other suggestions to achieve the same result?

Thanks!
