Neat and FCPX hang & crashing iMac

Post by nac »

Setup:-
iMac 27" late 2012
OSX 10.11.1
GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB
Neat Video V4
CUDA 7.0.52

My system is very stable until i make changes in Neat and apply. I get some video corruption and then the beach ball. The system totally locks up and either crashes or has to be hard reset.
The problem occurs randomly, but happens pretty much every day. It never hangs during rendering or editing profiles, only when saving the changes.

Any ideas on what the issue might be?

I checked the logs and see these kind of entries:-

I tried disabling GPU, and as suspected it works without any crashing. But so slow.

I'm editing 4k so i really do need the GPU assistance working. I suspect I won't be getting a fix from Neat for this problem as i have had no replies.

I'm thinking of getting a 5K iMac once the new model comes out, anyone using the GPU in the 5K iMac without issues?

Please excuse us for not replying earlier.

Please restart FCPX, open Neat Video's Options window, then its Preferences window, Performance tab and make a screenshot of that window. Please send it to support [at] neatvideo.com

Please also run the Optimize test in Neat Video Preferences and post its results (the whole log). It will show if the GPU actually works and helps Neat Video processing.

Thank you,
Vlad
