Define frame range for autoprofiling

Post by Maccara »

Hi,

First of all, thanks for 2.0 - seems excellent (running now for first analogue capture, ab 12h left still).

I would've wished there would've been one particular improvement: define frames for autoprofiling candidate.

Many times, we have a flat surface available for example for 20 frames but the autoprofiling quality can vary greatly between those 20 frames.

It is quite tedious to manually check each and see which provides the best profile.

Suggestion for implementation: user can browse to first frame he wants as a candidate and then input how many frames he wants to include for profiling. After this NV would autoprofile each frame and either show candidates or a simple statistics (even just output to file would be fine) for each frame and user can then select the frames considered the best and do the profiling manually as it is done now. I think this kind of implementation shouldn't be too hard to implement?

This is just to remove some tedious manual labor, which can take quite some time, involved in building a suitable profile.

Hi,

Thank you for your comments and suggestions regarding profiling. We could indeed try to implement such a scanning profiler to select the best frame and produce highest quality profile. We will consider possible ways of implementing this as a part of our general work on making profiling easier.

Thank you very much,
Vlad
