Blackmagic Cinema Camera

Post by valleo »

I have question in case of the BMD Cinema Camera.
When I load the "Afterglow" shot 5 into Motion 5, I cannot tell Neat Video to denoise the full range of the shot.
The image consists of very dark and mid-tones and Neat Video uses the mid-tones by default. But when I tell NV to fine-tune the profile by using the dark tones, too, I cannot see any processing in this areas.
Is there any trick or does it not work?

Thank you

Probably you are doing something incorrectly when you are fine-tuning the profile. Perhaps the choice of areas for analysis, or using not right control for manual fine-tuning. I cannot tell for sure without seeing what you do exactly. A correctly-built profile would make the noise filter treat the noise in the darks just as well as the noise in mid-tones and in brights.

I would need to get a reproducable example to see what exactly is going on. Could you prepare a small test case and send it to support [at] neatvideo.com?

Thank you,
Vlad
