Vegas Pro crashing with Version 3

Post by redwood09 »

Removed V2 last night and installed new version (3). found new profile and tried to render. Vegas Pro 10.0e. original file 1440x1080i HDV files. Tried to render to same 1440x1080i using main concept or sony's template. Crashes during rendering. Blue screen and computer restarts. Changed to use CPU only process (4 cores) and it behaved so I guess it's an issue with GPU usage
windows 7 64 bit, core i7, nvidia GTX card, 12GB ram.
Version 2 has always worked perfectly for me...
pity because the extra speed of the GPU would have been good.

Blue screen is usually a hardware issue (like as overheating of the GPU) or a driver issue (old video drivers). I would look into drivers first and would also monitor the temperature readings from the video card during rendering.

Which exactly model of NVidia GTX card is it?

Thank you,
Vlad

Hi Vlad,
it's Gigabyte card GTX260
I think that drivers are recent, but I'll try getting latest ones, and I'll monitor the temperature to see what's happening

Hi Vlad,
tried again using EVGA precision tool and adjusted the fan speed up from 40% to 80%.
That seemed make all difference. Temp. dropped from around 80 back to 60 degrees. The file rendered. Now I'll try a larger file (about 1 hour) and see if it works again
