720x480 anamorphic footage issue

Post by dweinin »

Hi Guys.

Just bought this plug in and so far it's been great and has really helped reduce the noise in my video. Ahhh...

I've got an issue. I shoot in NTSC 720x480 anamorphic and edit it that way as well in Final Cut Pro

However, when I use the Neat Video filter it squishes my footage (only in the Neat Video Filter Adjustment Window). The video in my sequence looks just fine. I did a search but couldn't find anything on this topic. It's easy enough to work around and the filter seems to work just fine. I bought the PRO version and I just thought it would be nice when making adjustments to the filter to be able to see the results properly in the adjustments window would be nice.

I hope that all makes sense. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks.[/img]

I guess you work with an interlaced footage and what you see is a 720x240 field (that should be specified in the bottom of Neat Video window) from the interlaced video stream. If that is the case then it is normal and there is nothing to worry about. FCP renders such invidifual fields and so does Neat Video.

Yeah. That's what I figured and it's not tough to work with. It would just be nice to be able to tweak the attributes of this Plug-In while looking at the picture with no distortion instead of adjusting it while it looks squished.

Thanks
