Given some handheld footage (which happens to be progressive), I imagine it would be a good idea to apply some deshaking first (e.g. using Gunnar Thalin's Deshaker for VirtualDub). I imagine that this would assist the temporal filtering. However deshaking takes a significant amount of extra time and disk space, so I don't want to rely on just my imagination to make the decision whether or not to do this!
Does NeatVideo already have some motion compensation in it, e.g. as part of the temporal filtering? If so, then maybe the prior deshaking would not add as much benefit as I would first imagine, and I can simplify my workflow.

There is some motion compensation already but anyway, I think the best approach is to test it both ways: with and without deshaker. If you will not find significant difference in the output then it makes sense to use NV alone, otherwise to deshake the footage as well.
